Texas Whitetail Season Ran Nov. 6 - Jan. 2, 2005
Check back for continuing field reports

This buck was taken first weekend of season by Kenny from New York

1/3/05
Our hunters have took several nice bucks far this season. Unfortunatley the weather not in our unlimate favor. We had a tremendous amount of rain this season. Just to put the rainfall in perspective as of 12/15/04, in Knox Country alone, there was 51" of rainfall on record, the yearly rainfall average is only 22". That was more than double the yearly rainfall average with several days left of the year. The rut was off this year due to the weather conditions. We would like to thank all of our hunters from this season for a great job. We are looking foward to our upcoming hunts.

*********************************************************************************************************
1st, 2nd & 3rd Elk season totals:
6 bulls & 1 mule deer taken
7 bulls & 2 mule deer missed
We would like to thank all of our hunters for a wonderful hunting season.
We will see most of you again next elk and mule deer season, if not before then.
We wish you all the best of luck on your next hunting venture.

Congratulation to Keith on his 5x5 bull

10/21/04
Well our 2nd season has come to a close. We hope that 3rd season's weather cooperates better than 2nd. The wind has been blowing 45 mph for two weeks, it is very cold and snowing. Ed reported that in the morning at camp it is usually around 17-20 degrees Fahrenheit. Despite the unfavorable weather conditions all hunters reported that they enjoyed their hunt. Our camp took two bulls and missed two bulls. We wish better luck next season.

10/20/04
Today is the last day for hunting. There was still 1/2 of a day of hunting left when Ed called in and reported that they have taken two nice bulls and have missed two good bulls this season. We wish the others hunters the best of luck for the remainder of the hunt. The weather did not allow the ultimate hunting conditions for our hunters.

10/18/04

We are in the 3 day of hunting for our 2nd Season and the weather is not cooperating. Ed called in from atop of Sheep Mountain and said it was cold, snowing and the wind was blowing in gusts of 60 mph. We are hoping in the remaining few days of season that the weather will let up and our hunters will have great success. Between Ed and our guide, Howard, they saw over 300 head of elk 1st season.

Congratulations to Randy on killing his nice 5x5 bull taken 10/13/04

10/15/04
Our 1st season came to a close on Oct. 13. All hunters reported that they had a great time, in fact such a great time they all booked back for next year. So 1st season Fall 2005 is booked. We would like to congratulate Randy again on his nice bull. There were some very nice bulls seen in our area 1st season. I don't know the total number of bulls seen 1st season, but I will post that as soon as I talk back with Ed. Congratulations, best wishes and Happy Hunting.

10/11/04

Ed called in for a brief talk this afternoon and he said they have seen many good bulls today. He will not know the numbers of total bulls seen today until he visits with guides and hunters at the days end. It is still cold and snowing. This type of weather is not particularly pleasant for the hunters but it is key in finding that massive bull as he descends into the lower elevation to evade the winter. We want to again congratulate Tom on the nice 5x5 bull he killed today and we would like to wish Jack better luck in the days ahead.

10/10/04
I spoke with Ed this evening, he was atop Twin Peaks (elevation 12,461) and reported that it was very cold, snowing and blowing. He said that more cold weather was headed their direction. Ed reported that between TTO's guides and hunters they have seen 19 trophy bulls in the first two days of hunting and they are on the trail of a colossal 6x6. We wish our hunters & guides the best of luck.

Check back each day as we detail the reports from the field as the guides check in. In early November when the guides return from camp we will be posting the pictures of the Fall 2004 kills.

*Best of luck and happy hunting*
