Triangle T Outfitters
2010-2011 Information Sheet

(Click Here for a printer friendly word document version)

Dear Hunter,

TTO was founded by Ed Tibljas 1966.  Ed began guiding hunters in 1966 in the rugged country of northern New Mexico & Southern Colorado.  Ed has been an avid hunter all his life.  He started hunting with his father as a young child, who was also an outfitter, and hasn’t stopped since.    He grew up in Raton, New Mexico and enlisted at the age of 18 with the U.S. Army and did an extended stay in the jungles of Vietnam.  He came back to pursue his passion of hunting, fishing & the outdoors.  He understands sportsmen and their desires of the outdoors.  He is a devoted sportsman and an avid shot.  He knows his hunting areas and the animals that live in them.  He does 99% of the scouting himself, so he knows where the trophy animals feed and bed.

Ed has hunted over five continents and harvested numerous species from dangerous game all the way down to small game.  Some of the animals he has hunted and harvested include Tanzanian cape buffalo, African bull elephant, African leopard and numerous African plains game animals; Australian Asiatic water buffalo, Russian coastal brown bears, Alaskan caribous, hundreds of elk, mule deer and whitetails, an unnumbered species of exotics, thousands of Argentina birds and a host of other animals.

Ed has guided hunters from the novice level to the high profile professional hunters, who hunt around the world and come into your living rooms each evening, as well as other outfitters and guides.  He has a passion for teaching beginner and experienced hunters alike the ins and outs of hunting world, from how to hunt a specific species to what caliber and cartridge to use.  He lives to ensure that the world of hunting continues to grow and feels that by education and sharing his knowledge with other outdoor enthusiasts the knowledge and lesson will be passed down from one generation to another.  Ed prides himself on the memories created during the hunt.  He feels that a successful hunt is measured by the quality of hunt, the beauty of the outdoors, the animals you saw and the friends you made.  These memories continue through stories that are handed down from generation to another.

I hope that this information sheet will provide you with the answers to your questions, but if you still have questions please feel free to call Ed, at (817) 279-3132 or myself at (817) 559-7874 and mention this sheet.  If you would like to see pictures of animals taken by other hunters, please go to our webpage www.triangletoutfitters.com and click the link at the top of the page labeled field reports.  The pictures are updated regularly.  If you would like a reference sheet please call or email.  Thank you for your interests in our guiding service.  We look forward to guiding your next hunt and we wish you the best of luck on your next hunting venture.

Happy Hunting & Best Regards,

Gina Rogers, PR Manager

WILD FREE RANGING New Mexico Trophy Bull Elk guaranteed* (rifle only)
This fabulous elk hunt takes place in western New Mexico on approximately 120 square miles of private ranch land.  I have personally guided there over that past three months and can honestly say I was very impressed with the quantity and quality of the bulls I’ve seen.  Bulls will average 320”+, but if hunters are capable and willing to pass on bulls of that size, the opportunity to shoot a 350”+ bull is very real.  I have personally seen numerous 350”+ bulls, they live here!!  If you are looking for a free ranging, truly huge, New Mexico bull elk this hunt is for you.  Several 400”+ bulls have been shot on this ranch over the past few years along with plenty of 350”+ bulls.  The governor’s tag has been awarded to this area multiple times and again this year.  Tags are limited, but we have guaranteed land owner tags that are exclusive to Triangle T Outfitters and its hunters.  Accommodations are decent, food is ok but the hunting is exceptional.  Fully guided 1x1, 5 day hunt, meals and lodging for a guaranteed landowner permit and guaranteed* 300”+ B&C bull elk.
Only a limited number of landowner permits are available.

*guarantee isn’t confirmed by a kill).  It is confirmed by positive opportunity of being put on a 300”+ bull or better and have the opportunity to harvest that bull: example shot turned down, shot missed, or animal crippled and lost, (guarantee applies to rifle only)

** If opportunity is not presented, you will be able to hunt next year at a discounted rate of at least 50% or less of current year’s price.

Colorado Elk & Mule Deer
Combination hunts are guided by Triangle T Outfitters.  We specialize in fully guided elk and mule deer hunts in the high country of Colorado. The base camp is 37 miles from the nearest paved road. Hunts are guided from a deluxe tent camp at the elevation of 10,300 feet in the Rio Grand National Forest, which is one mile from the LaGrita Wilderness boundary. The closest spike camp is a four hour ride by horseback from the base camp. Camp is spiked into the LaGrita Wilderness. The LaGrita spike camp is bordered by unit 76; unit 76 is a permit draw area only. 4-Wheelers are not permitted in this area, only horseback and foot travel. The horses are gentle and well trained mountain horses and only first class gear is used.  We only book 6 hunters per rifle season, with three seasons in all. All hunters in camp are guided 1 guide per 2 hunters.

Trophy Mule Deer
New Mexico mule deer are guided one on one on a private ranch in unit 12. There are only a limited number of permits available each year for New Mexico mule deer. Please contact TTO for more information.

Antelope
Antelope are hunted in New Mexico on a private ranch known for its exceptional antelope. They are fully guided and include meals and lodging.  Some antelope on this ranch will go beyond 90 inches.

Our whitetail hunts are a trophy hunt period, you are not on a hunt just to kill a buck, you are here to kill a trophy buck.  We strive to take 3 ½ year old bucks or better.  We have NO trophy fees, only the cost of the hunt.  It became necessary in 2007 to charge a management fee fine of $1500 for any whitetail taken that is less than 3 ½ years old and that scores less than 140 B&C.  This fee has become necessary due to impatient hunters that took 1½ old bucks on the last day who had great potential of being trophy bucks.

Our whitetail deer are hunted free-range on large tracts of private land in North Texas, exclusive to Triangle T Outfitters.
Each season, several book deer are taken. Only a limited number of hunters are guided each season to maintain our management program. Management is our first priority.  We don’t over hunt any area to insure that the deer are not pressured.  We have over 30,000 acres of private land available for hunting whitetail.  We only allow one buck killed for 1,000 acres hunted.

A fully guided hunt will consist of one guide per one hunter and will consist of hunting from a stand over a food plot or feeder, as well as the spot and stalk methods in accordance to the pattern and movement of the deer.  A semi guided hunt will consist of the guide setting the hunter in a blind (tripod, box blind, popup, tree stand, etc.) over a food plot or feeder
